Alpha Pack Info and FAQ

Alpha Packs

Alpha Packs are designed as a way to give you free cosmetics, just for playing the game! Alpha Packs will also offer us an exciting opportunity to provide players with a second chance to pick up limited time cosmetics, such as the Black Ice Weapon Skin series.

Acquisition

Players will be able to obtain Alpha Packs through two methods, chance rolls after winning a match, or through the shop.

Chance

When you complete a match, your Chance rating increases slightly more for a win than it will for a loss. This is compounded by other factors such as whether you were the MVP, or a Year 2 Pass holder. The most substantial gain in Chance will be from winning and losing matches.

Winning

You are able to earn Alpha Packs through winning matches.

After emerging victorious from your latest match, you are taken to the Loot screen. Here, your total Chance is taken into account, and you roll to win an Alpha Pack. If the roll lands within your Chance rating, you will be presented with an Alpha Pack! Should the roll land outside of your Chance rating, you will have the appropriate amount of Chance added to your total for the next time you win a match.

Once you have won an Alpha Pack, your total Chance is reset to zero. Your Chance that is granted for winning the match will then be added after the reset, granting you a small amount of Chance so you are able to start working towards your next Alpha Pack!

Shop

You will be able to purchase an Alpha Pack for 5,000 Renown. The Year 2 Pass VIP discount will apply to Alpha Pack purchases.

Contents

The loot found in the Alpha Pack will change over time. We will have over 1,000 available items at launch, and will have even more content being added/removed as we move forward. These items include Weapon Charms, Weapon Skins, Headgear, as well as over 30 Legendary skins that can only be acquired through Alpha Packs!

Rarity

All cosmetic items have been assigned a rarity:

  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary

Duplicates

In some instances, you have the chance to win a cosmetic item that you already own. If this happens, you will receive Renown based on the rarity of the duplicate item.

FAQ

Are we able to buy Alpha Packs with R6 Credits?

While there may be limited time Alpha Pack variants available for purchase with R6 Credits in the future, Alpha Packs will be available for purchase using Renown.

Will I lose my item if I join a match while opening an Alpha Pack?

No. You will still be granted your item. Players will receive a popup after leaving your match that will present your item to you.

Am I able to open Alpha Packs while offline?

As the rolls for items are all handled server side, you must have an active connection to our servers in order to open Alpha Packs.

Can multiple items be won from a single Alpha Pack?

All Alpha Packs contain a single item.

How often will the contents be changed?

We do not have a set timeline for cycling in/out new content, but we will alert players when new items are available!

Will there still be items available in the store, like in Year 1?

Certainly! We will not be abandoning the shop in favor of Alpha Packs. You will still see content added to the shop in Year 2 at the same rate that you have seen throughout Year 1.

Will Post Launch Operators be available in Alpha Packs?

No, they will not.

Are Alpha Packs going to be available for people playing Terrorist Hunt?

Alpha Packs can only be earned after winning a Ranked or Casual match.
